The Latest Upgrade to Our Industry-First Portable Camera Checkout System
This past June, we unveiled our highly-anticipated “Free-Wheeling” OG Compact at the CineGear LA Expo on the Warner Bros lot, and again at Hot Rod Camera’s annual CineBeer event in Burbank. This latest OG Compact iteration was met with enthusiasm from fellow industry professionals, who recognized the system’s practical design as truly “born out of a frustration” they found deeply relatable.
The new Free-Wheeling OG Compact stands on rolling, locking wheels in place of leveling feet or base-flanges, allowing for single-person maneuverability with minimal muscular engagement (no lifting– just roll it around!).
Reliably maintains calibration while wheeling about – even where the ground is uneven.
These sturdy caster wheels maintain the stability of our fixed models, such as the Grounded or Underslung OG Compact, while further enhancing the portable modularity of the Freestanding or Desktop OG Compacts.
SMALL, YET MIGHTY
The Free-Wheeling OG Compact is an ideal system for facilities with limited space, or those looking for a modular option to adapt to their evolving facility and clientele needs. It’s a perfect solution for busy houses to accommodate more clients; when all existing checkout lanes are booked, this system is easily wheeled-in. Additionally, it has great potential as an on-location and/or mobile solution (such as on a camera truck) for both Camera Checkout and Lens Calibration services.
All OG Compact systems can function as both a Camera Checkout Bay and Lens Calibration System by means of our MYT-exclusive 2-in-1 Reversible Siemens Focus Chart & Projection Board, which is included with every Compact system.
LET’S TALK CHARTS
All OG Compact Systems come standard with the MYT 2-in-1 reversible chart, which can be flipped to allow the operator to switch between calibrating lenses and performing camera checkout.
The Chart and its Assembly sits on a base with the same 5-¼” spacing as our MYT Hi-Hat, which is easily rotated so that the system can fit through a standard doorway.
We developed this unique chart in partnership with PrĂŞt Ă Tourner Accessories, an industry leader of high-quality Focus Charts and Projection Boards. The Reversible Focus Chart & Projection Board has the same dimensions as P.A.T.’s high-resolution TERA Focus Chart.
Although this reversible chart is included, we understand it isn’t right for every workflow.
That’s why we offer the ability to frame out this Compact system for a different chart at no additional cost.

This multi-purpose chart is ideal for Rental Houses not currently outfitted for lens calibration. It allows facilities to “dip their toes” into the realm of calibrating lenses without the commitment of a dedicated lens room, as would be necessary for something like our advanced Lens Calibration system, the Opti-Glide Reticle.
THE OPTI-GLIDE SYSTEM:
NEVER WATERED DOWN
From its original unveiling at NAB’s 2023 Expo as a Product of the Year Award Nominee, the OG Compact was carefully designed to adapt the most sought-after features from our original Opti-Glide into a portable model with even greater customization opportunities.
Such features include:
Our signature Digital Distance Readout, which displays position in realtime with a level of accuracy down to a fraction of a millimeter.
Our Calibration-Free Absolute Encoder, which will never lose its position – even when disconnected from a power source.
The ability to line up the laser to the film plane. All Compacts include two laser-mounting positions to accommodate a wide variety of camera/lens setups.
As is the case with all MYT Systems, the OG Compact comes standard with our signature modular MYT Hi-Hat and choice of camera mount (75mm, 100mm, 150mm, Mitchell, or Flat Mount).
The OG Compact can still be operated manually, either by moving the camera or chart by hand, or by using our crowd-favorite Hand Crank accessory, which allows for optimally precise feathering in-and-out of focal position. It can also be operated with a Keyboard & Motor Interface complete with preset capabilities.
BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY
All MYT systems and accessories are backwards-compatible, meaning your system will never become outdated by future releases of accessories or features, and can be upgraded or reconfigured at any time.
A “PERMANENTLY FLEXIBLE” SYSTEM
Like the Freestanding and Desktop Compacts before it, the Free-Wheeling Compact may be converted into a fixed position whenever the time is right.
