FutureWorks Media is a notable studio and rental house whose work spans across the full spectrum of prep, production, post, and delivery. This was a very special installation with a number of custom components that served both rental house clients as well as staff technicians and lens specialists.
Due to FutureWorks’ large and diverse range of cameras and lenses, from super 35mm anamorphic up to full frame, they needed high preforming and repeatable accuracy for technicians and clients. A number of accessories were used and customizations were done to meet the high-level needs of their unique workflows.

Custom Flat Mount for Projector
A custom chart frame, sized for two optical targets, ensures that lens checking and calibration can happen with perfect perpendicularity and repeatability. The Film Plane Encoder allows clients to seamlessly slide the laser to meet the film plane of the camera, without recalibrating the system. A motor and hand crank allow the operator to adjust the position of the chart or optical target without moving from the camera workstation, and feather in and out to see how the lens behaves.
Their work with leading filmmakers, studios, and streamers has brought numerous projects to completion, including Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, Rocket Boys, Westworld, and Dune: Prophecy.
