A WORLD-FIRST RETICLE LANE IN BURLEIGH HEADS
Set against the stunning backdrop of Burleigh Heads, a destination known for its natural beauty, sport, and sand; is a premiere rental house called Cine 2481. With a comprehensive inventory of cameras, lenses, grip, lighting, audio gear, and accessories, along with a calendar of community events, Cine 2481 is a hub for the local community as well as the wider world of filmmakers that travel to Queensland on a project basis.
The Opti-Glide Reticle at Cine 2481 is mounted on a self-contained steel structure, custom-designed to fit beneath an active mezzanine.
This system is mounted below a self-contained steel structure. This configuration addresses unique spatial challenges, including historic “strata” restrictions that limited structural modification, as well as an upper mezzanine that is active during the workday. Collaborating closely with owner Leo Clifford, we developed creative solutions tailored to his dynamic rental house. The result? A seamless integration of our longest reticle lane in Australia, with 30 feet of track stretching across the facility.
Leo’s innovative approach further enhances the facility’s functionality. A custom curtain structure provides flexible, blacked-out areas for lens testing while maintaining throughway traffic flow for the bustling rental house. Though primarily used for shorter-range lens testing, the Opti-Glide Reticle system now balances the needs of different departments, demonstrating the versatility of its design within a thoughtfully planned space. The floating pedestal is completely custom for his design and use-case.
Everything about Cine 2481 has been designed with clients in mind. From three camera checkout bays to comfortable spaces for clients, the facility reflects Cine 2481’s deep expertise in spatial design and commitment to providing the best tools and experiences for their community.
This installation marks our fourth Opti-Glide system in Australia. With this addition, Burleigh Heads is now on the map as a destination for world-class lens testing and calibration—an investment that underscores Cine 2481’s leadership and vision in serving filmmakers near and far.
